Alberto Cribiore is the former Vice Chairman of Citi's Institutional Clients Group, which he joined in 2008. As a member of Citi's Senior Advisory Group, he advised chief executives, corporate boards, governments, and central banks across the bank's largest global relationships.
 

A native of Milan, Cribiore graduated cum laude from Bocconi University in 1969 with degrees in business and economics. He moved to New York in the mid-1970s as Vice President of IFI International, the Agnelli family's holding company, and from 1982 to 1985 was Senior Vice President for strategic planning at Warner Communications, working directly with Chairman and CEO Steven J. Ross. In 1985 he joined the private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice as one of three equal principal shareholders, and in 1997 he founded Brera Capital Partners, a global private equity investment firm.
 

Cribiore served on the board of directors of Merrill Lynch from 2003 to 2008, including as non-executive Chairman in 2007, when he chaired the committee that selected the firm's next chief executive.
 

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of Weill Cornell Medicine's Board of Overseers, a director of the American Italian Foundation for Cancer Research, a former member of Bocconi University's International Advisory Council, and former Chairman of Friends of Bocconi in New York. He was a trustee of Reed College from 1995 to 2010 and served as a Managing Director and board member of the Metropolitan Opera Association for nineteen years. A longtime member of the Council for the United States and Italy — founded by David Rockefeller and Giovanni Agnelli to strengthen ties between the two countries — he was named Grand Marshal of New York's Columbus Day Parade in 2015.
